This course aims to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of strategic management concepts and techniques. Throughout the course, we will cover various topics, including vision and mission analysis, internal and external audits, types of strategies, strategy generation and selection, and strategy monitoring.
In week 1, we will begin with an introduction to the course. Weeks 2 and 3 will focus on defining strategic management. In Chapter 1: Strategic Management Essentials, we will explore fundamental concepts. In weeks 4 and 5, we will delve into vision and mission analysis as presented in Chapter 5: Vision and Mission Analysis. Weeks 6 and 7 will involve the analysis of internal strengths and weaknesses, with guidance from Chapter 6: The Internal Audit. Week 8 will feature a mid-term exam to assess your understanding of the material covered so far. In weeks 9 and 10, we will analyze external threats and opportunities, referring to Chapter 7: The External Audit. During Weeks 11 and 12, we will explore various types of strategies using Chapter 4: Types of Strategies. We will conclude the course in week 13 with a discussion on strategy generation, utilizing the BCG Matrix outlined in Chapter 8: Strategy Generation and Selection. Finally, in week 14, we will focus on strategy monitoring by examining the Balanced Scorecard, as presented in Chapter 11: Strategy Monitoring.
